CFP Board Center for Financial Planning, TD Ameritrade Institutional Seek Submissions for 2018 Best Paper Award for Behavioral Finance

The CFP Board Center for Financial Planning, in collaboration with TD Ameritrade Institutional, today announced that it is seeking submissions for the first in a series of Best Paper Awards that will be presented at the Center’s second annual Academic Research Colloquium for Financial Planning and Related Disciplines in Washington, D.C., on February 20-22, 2018. in Washington, D.C., on February 20-22, 2018.

The TD Ameritrade Institutional Best Paper Award for Behavioral Finance will recognize research papers that bring psychological insight into human behavior and decision-making with implications for financial planning practice.

Building on the success of last February’s inaugural event, the 2018 Colloquium will gather the global academic community to showcase rigorous and relevant research within financial planning and related disciplines that directly or indirectly relates to financial planning practice and the body of knowledge.

That’s why we want to create more opportunities for research that will equip them to better guide clients in making more prudent financial decisions,” said Kate Healy, Managing Director, Generation Next, TD Ameritrade Institutional. “We are pleased to again sponsor the Center’s Best Paper Award in Behavioral Finance as we seek to advance the profession and elevate its understanding of how clients truly think about their finances.”

As the Lead Founding Sponsor of the Center for Financial Planning, TD Ameritrade Institutional is supporting the Colloquium and sponsoring the Best Paper Award in the discipline of behavioral finance. The Best Paper Award carries with it a $2,500 cash prize that will be awarded at the Colloquium to the author of the winning paper. Additional Best Paper Awards – and their sponsors – will be announced at later dates leading up to the Colloquium.
