CFP Board has adopted a revised Code of Ethics and Standards of Conduct (“Code and Standards”), effective October 2019. It requires a CFP® professional to act as a fiduciary, and therefore, to act in the best interests of the client at all times when providing financial advice.

To provide context for the revised Code and Standards, CFP Board has developed a commentary document as a resource.
