Financial Planning Coalition Renews Call for Increased IA Examinations by SEC

On February 12, 2013, the Coalition released a statement renewing its call for increased adviser examinations.  The Coalition called for the enhancement of the SEC's existing oversight program.  In its statement, the Coalition reiterated that allowing the SEC to collect reasonable user fees to conduct examinations at least once every four yours will increase investor protection without impacting taxpayers or the federal deficit and present a more cost efficient alternative to an SRO.
