Notice: Annual Certification Fee for Certification Periods November 1, 2017 and Later

Effective for initial and renewal CFP® certification periods beginning November 1, 2017 and later, the annual certification fee is $355, reflecting an increase of $30. 

The first CFP® professionals to see the new annual certification fee on their invoices will be those whose certification expires in November 2017; those individuals will receive their first renewal notices with the new fee in late August 2017.

$145 of the annual certification fee is dedicated solely to the expenses of CFP Board's Public Awareness Campaign to increase awareness of CFP® professionals.  The remainder of the annual certification fee, in conjunction with other sources of revenue including exam fees, supports the operations of CFP Board in fulfilling its mission and strategic priorities, which are advancing the relevance of the CFP® marks and strengthening CFP® certification’s standing as the highest standard for competent and ethical personal financial planning.
