CFP Board Seeks Qualified Candidates for 2020 Board of Directors

April 24, 2019
CFP Board is now accepting applications from individuals interested in serving on CFP Board's Board of Directors (Board), the strategic governing body of the organization, beginning in January 2020.  This year, the Board’s Nominating Committee is seeking self-nominations of individuals with CFP® certification, or those with a deep professional understanding of the financial planning industry, to answer the call to serve the public through board representation.

We encourage you to consider applying or to encourage your qualified colleagues to submit an application by the June 7, 2019 deadline.

The Board is the policy-making and oversight body of CFP Board. The Board is responsible for furthering CFP Board's mission and acts on behalf of the public, CFP® professionals and other stakeholders. Board Directors serve four-year terms, and each year, two to four new Board positions are available.

Board Directors have a significant opportunity to participate in guiding the policy direction of the organization as it moves into the future to effectively meet the needs of the stakeholders of the organization and further the benefits to the public by ensuring the CFP® certification is upheld as the recognized standard of excellence for personal financial planning.

To learn more about this opportunity, review the Position Description outlining the duties of a Board Director and download a Board of Directors Application.  (Please remember to save the form to your computer before filling it out.)

The deadline for submitting a completed application form is June 7, 2019. If you submitted an application in years past and would like to be considered for the 2020 Board of Directors, please complete a new application form to express your continued interest.
