CFP Board Center for Financial Planning Releases 2018 Annual Report

May 28, 2019

The CFP Board Center for Financial Planning continued to make significant strides in 2018 to advance the financial planning profession by improving the health of our talent pipeline, fostering greater diversity within our workforce and increasing the quality of our practitioners’ knowledge and insights.  We did this by leveraging rigorous research, research-based programs and broad collaborations to drive toward innovative solutions for the growth and sustainability of our profession.  Together, we are making advances toward our vision that every American has access to competent and ethical financial planning advice.

We are proud to share these achievements with you in the Center's 2018 Annual Report. The report provides an overview of initiatives and partnerships undertaken by the Center, as well as the green shoots of success that the Center is already achieving, in each of our three focus areas:

  • Talent Pipeline: Attracting and developing the next generation of financial planners.
  • Diversity and Inclusion: Fostering greater diversity in the financial planning workforce.
  • Knowledge for Practice: Building a research-based body of knowledge for financial planning.

Our Annual Report also acknowledges the thousands of corporate sponsors, individual donors and volunteers who have generously donated their time, talent and treasure in support of the Center’s work.  The progress we have made in the past three years was only possible thanks to their contributions.

We are grateful to them all for their unwavering commitment to our profession’s advancement.

We hope you enjoy reading the enclosed report and look forward to sharing future news about the Center and our collective accomplishments
