CFP BOARD SEEKS CANDIDATES FOR 2023 BOARD OF DIRECTORS

April 15, 2022

CFP Board is now accepting applications from individuals interested in serving on CFP Board's Board of Directors (Board), the strategic governing body of the organization, beginning in January 2023.

To complement the skills and experience of existing board members, the Board’s Nominating Committee is seeking candidates with one or more of the following characteristics:

  • A representative from a large national trust company
  • A representative with a deep background and experience in fintech
  • A representative with digital currency expertise
  • A client-facing CFP® practitioner
  • A public member with competency standards and/or credentialing expertise

In addition to the above, the Committee will also consider candidates with a deep background in ESG investing.

CFP Board maintains its longstanding commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion in all aspects of its mission and activities at all levels of the organization, including the Board of Directors, believing that diversity of experience and perspective will strengthen the organization’s impact. To that end, the Board of Directors should reflect a collective mixture of human and organizational assets including race, color religion, national origin, age, sex, disability, veteran status or sexual orientation—all while leveraging the power of diversity, equity and inclusion.

To learn more about this opportunity, review the Position Description outlining the duties of a Board Director and download a Board of Directors Application. (Please remember to save the form to your computer before filling it out.)

The Board is the policymaking and oversight body of CFP Board. The Board is responsible for furthering CFP Board's mission and acts on behalf of the public, CFP® professionals and other stakeholders. Board Directors serve three-year terms, and each year, two to four new Board positions are available.

The culture of our Board is lively and collaborative, and Board members have a significant opportunity to participate in guiding the policy direction of the organization, furthering the benefits to the public by ensuring the CFP® certification is upheld as the recognized standard of excellence for personal financial planning.

The deadline for submitting a completed application form is June 15, 2022. If you submitted an application in years past and would like to be considered for the 2023 Board of Directors, please complete a new application form to express your continued interest.
