One of the requirements for CFP® certification is completing the coursework requirement through a CFP Board Registered Program, so you can ensure you have the knowledge you need to deliver the best possible financial planning services to your clients. With more than 300 registered programs to choose from, you have lots of options to find the best program that makes the most sense for you.

Which Registered Program Fits You Best?
No matter what your learning style or schedule looks like, you can find a program that fits your needs. While all registered programs cover the same core topics and CFP Board does not endorse one program over another, they do vary in style, length and delivery method. To decide which program is the best fit for you, start off by asking yourself:
- What course level am I considering: undergraduate, graduate or certificate?
- What is my learning style? Will it be more helpful for me to take online courses, or to learn in a more traditional classroom setting?
- How long will it take to complete the curriculum? What is my ideal timeline taking work, family and other commitments into consideration?
- How much does the program cost? Does this amount include books, tests and other fees?
- Does my employer have a preferred education provider?
- Does the program include a review course to help me prepare for the CFP® exam? Does the program partner with a review course provider?

ASK YOUR FIRM FOR SUPPOrT
Check in with your employer to see what support and resources they can provide. Some companies have arrangements with their preferred education providers which can potentially save you money. And companies often reimburse for education, exam or certification costs.
