CFP Board works with CFP® professional volunteers to create, develop, and review CFP® exam content. CFP® professionals serve a vital role in ensuring the validity of the exam.

Volunteers are instrumental to the continuing success of the CFP® certification program and CFP Board’s work to uphold CFP® certification as the standard for financial planning.

Continuing Education
Exam Development Volunteers earn free CE credit hours toward renewal of certification.

Networking and Collaboration
Through item writing and item review volunteer opportunities, participants can gain valuable knowledge and information related to financial planning, while networking with other professionals and subject matter experts. Ultimately, the workshop helps ensure the integrity and validity of certification exams, while also promoting the advancement of the profession.

Further Your Volunteer Experience with CFP Board
Higher-level volunteer opportunities are available to volunteers who participate in item writing or item review opportunities. These roles are open to experienced volunteers who are interested in further contributing to CFP Board Examinations and advancing their financial planning expertise.
