Akeiva M. Ellis, CFP®, CPA

A financial planner who previously served some of the nation’s wealthiest clients, Akeiva Ellis is now a financial coach and educator for millennials & Generation Z. As co-founder of The Bemused (with her husband), she has empowered tens of thousands of young adults to enhance their finances through YouTube videos content and online education programs.

Akeiva’s has been featured in numerous media outlets, including Refinery 29, NPR, Financial Planning, Business Insider, RIA Intel and CNBC. She has also been a featured guest on several podcasts.

In 2022, Akeiva received the AICPA Standing Ovation Award in Personal Financial Planning. The previous year, she was recognized as an Industry Rising Star by Financial Planning magazine, honored as a Luminary in Diversity & Inclusion by ThinkAdvisor and named to InvestmentNews’ 40 under 40 — the youngest person to grace the list in its eight-year history.

A proud daughter of Caribbean immigrants, Akeiva was born and raised in New York City and currently lives in New England with her husband. She holds a B.S. in Accounting and Business Administration from Washington Adventist University and an M.S. in Financial Planning from Bentley University.
